May 12 2016
Warner Music Canada
PRESS RELEASE

FLEETWOOD MAC’S MIRAGE SET FOR DELUXE REISSUE
3CD/5.1 Surround Mix/LP Set Features Newly Remastered
Sound, Rare And Unreleased Recordings, And More
2-CD Expanded Edition Also Available
Both Versions Set For Release on July 29th From Warner Bros. Records

Fleetwood Mac’s streak of five consecutive multi-platinum albums began in the Seventies and continued in 1982 with Mirage, the follow-up to the band’s 1979 double-album, Tusk. During the summer of 1982, Mirage topped the album chart and added to the band’s already impressive canon of hits with “Hold Me,” “Love In Store” and “Gypsy.”

Following last year’s deluxe edition of Tusk, Fleetwood Mac continues chronologically with the deluxe edition of MIRAGE. Available on July 29, this new edition expands on the original album with newly remastered sound, a selection of rare and unreleased recordings, as well as the stories and pictures behind the album. Three formats available:

Deluxe: Three CDs, DVD and LP. Original album remastered, plus b-sides and rarities; the original album on LP; live performances; and a 5.1 mix on DVD.

Expanded: Two CDs. Original album remastered, plus a disc of b-sides and rarities.
Remastered: Original album remastered.

Digital versions of the Deluxe and Remastered formats will also be available.

In 1982 Fleetwood Mac topped the U.S. Album Chart for five weeks with MIRAGE. Along with instantly recognizable smash hits like “Hold Me” and “Gypsy,” MIRAGE also features great album tracks like “Oh Diane,” a Top Ten hit in the UK, and “Straight Back,” a Top 40 hit on the Billboard Rock Chart.

The new deluxe and expanded editions of MIRAGE both include a second disc that has 19 tracks dedicated entirely to outtakes and rarities. Among the unreleased gems are early versions of several album tracks – “Empire State” and “Book Of Love” – along with outtakes for songs that didn’t make it to the album: “If You Were My Love” and “Smile At You.” There is also an unreleased cover of the Fats Domino classic “Blue Monday,” as well as the rare, extended mix for “Gypsy” that was used in the music video.

Exclusive to the deluxe edition of MIRAGE is a third disc that has more than a dozen live performances recorded in Los Angeles during Fleetwood Mac’s 1982 U.S. tour. Along with early hits – “You Make Loving Fun” and “The Chain” – the collection includes performances of MIRAGE standouts like “Love In Store,” “Eyes Of The World” and “Gypsy.”

The DVD-Audio disc contains both the 5.1 Surround and 24/96 Stereo Audio mixes of the original album. The set also includes a vinyl copy of MIRAGE.

Yet another fabulous Band out of Los Angeles, California, Pleasure Burn (click to see the bands’ website), has dedicated their Art and Exceptional Musical talent to a worthy and notable cause that has already created quite a stir globally shortly following the Terrorist attack in Paris on November 13th, 2015. This notable Rock band on the rise has elected to participate in the Play It Forward Campaign (click here to view) and has created a beautiful tribute video for their cover of the song ‘I Love You All The Time’, an original song by Eagles of Death Metal. This movement (one of many) is meant to honor the memory of all those who lost their lives in the attack and is a testament to just how beautifully the Music Community always comes together for the sake of humanity.

In close conjunction with the band’s management and The Studio Venue (click here to view their website) where the LIVE performance will take place tomorrow at 8pm PST. -History of the Play It Forward Campaign-

The Play It Forward Campaign was set up by Eagles of Death Metal, to challenge their peers in the Music Community to create a ‘cover’ of their song so that all money collected from the sales of each recording of ‘I Love You All The Time’ goes to The Sweet Stuff Foundation and to the family of fallen friend and industry professional Nick Alexander who, sadly, passed in the terrorist attack . The Sweet Stuff Foundation was founded to give assistance to career Musicians, Recording Engineers and their Families struggling with illness and disability. (click here to find out more about this foundation). For your convenience, we have put a list of all the Musicians that have participated below as well as the ‘Letter from Eagles of Death Metal’ who initially began this crusade.

LETTER FROM EAGLES OF DEATH METAL

Hello talented friend, The senseless and violent terrorist attacks of Nov. 13, 2015 in Paris have left us all unsettled and we dare not give another second of precious time to those who have tried to steal our freedoms and take away our power.

Instead, we are writing to ask for your help to Play It Forward. We are calling upon our friends to donate their time, talent and good will in a show of solidarity to help the victims of these atrocious acts in Paris and those affected by terrorism worldwide.

We are asking for you to cover our song "I Love You All The Time." For every cover sold, we pledge to donate 100% of the publishing income to The Sweet Stuff Foundation. We ask that you also donate the money generated from sales of the song to the charity.

In the same spirit, we would encourage you to offer one of your songs up to be covered by another artist, and follow suit - donate the publishing monies to charity - The Play it Forward Initiative.
Whether you're Soul or R&B; Hip Hop or Hippy; Garage, Goth, Country, Punk or Pop; Death Metal or DJ; It matters not. Whether your version is faithful to ours, instrumental, uses only lyrics or fragments thereof or is completely reimagined in every way, it matters not. Your individual musical differences become our collective strength. Simultaneously, we will call upon iTunes, Tidal, Amazon, Spotify & all others who will sell these covers, to join us and donate their portions to a charity as a symbol of unity. So many wonderfully talented artists have offered their love & support or have reached out asking, "How can we help?" Our answer is simple; Unite with us. All of us. The musicians, the bands, the music companies & the fans. because we are music. We are the anthems of great nations. We are the songs of our forefathers. We are the hymns of God. The songs of the broken hearted. The unchained melodies. The songs of puppy love & of love that cannot be broken. We are the music of hope & possibility. We are the call to arms. We are the chorus of victory. We are songs in the key of life.

We are the Champions... of the World.

In the event our song doesn't float your boat, we encourage you to help unite our business by any means possible. If you're drawing a blank, donate something of yours or the proceeds from one of your songs, as Duran Duran (click here to read more about this)  has so graciously done. But do join us help & heal through music. They attacked us all, please hear the call.

Thank you for your time & love to you all,

Eagles of Death Metal

BLAKE SHELTON’S IF I’M HONEST due May 20 Exclusively on Apple Music

via Warner Music Canada

NASHVILLE, TN– Country music superstar Blake Shelton’s deeply personal new album If I’m Honest is available for preorder now at iTunes. Fans who buy the album before its May 20 release will get an instant download of “Go Ahead and Break My Heart,” the special duet Shelton performed with Gwen Stefani on The Voice May 9.

The Warner Bros. Records/Warner Music Nashville release will be an Apple Music and iTunes exclusive for digital downloads and streaming the week of release before going out to all online outlets on May 27. Shelton has already shared several tracks with fans. Lead singles “Came Here to Forget” and “Savior’s Shadow” are now at Country and Christian radio – the beautifully bittersweet “Came Here to Forget” is already Top 5 and destined to be Shelton’s 22nd No. 1 – and “Friends” is part of The Angry Birds Movie soundtrack.

And tonight 16 million fans will see Shelton unveil song No. 4 in a very special performance with Stefani, who co-wrote and recorded “Go Ahead and Break My Heart” with Shelton. The two have been competing coaches on The Voice and Stefani served as a mentor/advisor for Team Blake this spring as he goes for his fifth victory in 10 seasons.

Shelton considers If I’m Honest the best album of his career and is excited to share the music with fans in the run up to release. His 12th studio LP will lead off with “Straight Outta Cold Beer,” the high energy cut that serves as a party-to-forget entry point for the larger story If I’m Honest tells.

“Man, I love this song because it’s basically just what we do,” Shelton said. “You go find whoever’s got property that touches the river or the lake or a field somewhere and just have a party out in the woods. I see these critics and bloggers saying they’re tired of hearing about a tailgate and an ice chest and a campfire.”

The former CMA Entertainer of the Year and five-time Male Vocalist of the Year is also excited for everybody to hear the way he and producer Scott Hendricks meld genres on “It Ain’t Easy.”
“’It Ain’t Easy’ is a song Rhett Akins sent over to me and I just fell in love with it because it sounds like something they made at Muscle Shoals back in the day when that earthy R&B sound was bleeding into country music,” Shelton said. “And so when I heard it, it was like, ‘Whoa! This sounds like my heroes like Earl Thomas Conley, Kenny Rogers and Con Hunley. That’s going to be a completely new sound to the kids out there these days and I want to be the guy that gets to showcase that feel and get it back out there again.’”

Shelton will share more personal insights about his new music over the next two weeks as he prepares to release If I’m Honest. Fans can also learn more about him when the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum in Nashville, Tennessee, opens Blake Shelton: Based on a True Story on May 27. The exhibition will examine the star’s road to success, from his childhood to his move to Nashville as a teen, and from his multi-platinum recording breakthrough to becoming a national celebrity. A range of artifacts, including stage wear, instruments, song manuscripts, photos and personal items will help tell the story of Shelton’s struggles and triumphs.

And he’ll hit the road on the fall leg of the 2016 Blake Shelton Tour Presented by Gildan in September, kicking off the run in his home state of Oklahoma. For tour dates, tickets and the latest news and information, be sure to follow @blakeshelton on Twitter and stay tuned to www.BlakeShelton.com

The Abrams 'Self Titled' EP Launch May 20 | Streaming May 13 - 19th via SMC Website!

via Warner Music Canada

The self-titled EP is produced by Juno Award-winning and Grammy Award-nominated producer Gavin Brown (Billy Talent, Metric, Three Days Grace). Barely into their twenties, John and James Abrams have already been touring for over a decade. The brothers made their mark at many high profile U.S. bluegrass festivals as teenagers. In 2005, they became the youngest Canadians to perform at the Grand Ole Opry. In 2008, they released Blue On Brown, a collection of Bob Dylan and Arlo Guthrie songs, followed in 2011 by Northern Redemption, their first all-original album, which nonetheless echoed the work of their classic country heroes such as the Louvin Brothers and Jim & Jesse. Guthrie, upon seeing The Abrams for the first time, remarked: "They were young – way too young to be playing that good!"

The Abrams is a departure from their earlier work, spurred by Brown, who took it as a personal challenge to bring out the best in The Abrams and introduce them to a broader audience. The resulting EP does indeed make an indelible first impression, yet is only a taste of what The Abrams and Brown have created together. Knowing now what they can accomplish in the studio, and how to translate that to the stage, The Abrams are fully prepared to take a place alongside Canada’s best-known country music stars.

*Starlight Music Chronicles will be will be hosting a stream of the new self-titled EP from The Abrams from Friday, May 13th to Thursday, May 19th, 2016 on our website!

NEW SINGLE | Swerve 'Are You Coming Home With Me?' is the Perfect Summer Hit!

by CA Marshall

'Are You Coming Home With Me?' sung by Gregory Mahdesian of the Los Angeles Band Swerve, is just the kind of question you would hear from one of those summer Romantic Comedies where the guy is at the bar and slyly asking the object of his eye to 'hang out at my place'. At least, that's the vision when you read the title.....

Now, plug this into your iPod and have a listen to know that the lyrics and instrumentation is much more than that in this New ling awaited single that simultaneously has released in fair proximity to The Fontaines 'Cold'. Suffice to say, awesome travels in herds (the two bands are alos very good friends!). However, the sound is completely flashback Alternative yet Retro 80's complete with the Brat Pack 'Molly Ringwald' Pretty in Pink visionary in the minds eye.

This is a song about taking the plunge and asking the girl out once and for all. What is most delightful about the song is that the vocals aren't reminiscent of 'that guy' at the bar (as aforementioned), rather, it's a clean, hip, and refreshing classic visual of: boy-loves-girl/boy-finally-asks-girl-out. And in his best Shirt and Tie to boot! To me this is melody is also reminiscent of The Smith's in their candor and sonorous presence. If you are a Smiths or even a Simple Minds lover, this is the song you want to add to your playlist because it's definitely a summer hit! Have a listen below and be sure to check out their Social Media Links!
